Guatemala Independence Day 2008

Friday, September 12th we celebrated Guatemala’s 187th independence day. It was quite a treat for all of us. The children dressed in indigenous traje, we ate typica food, there was music and dance. I have to say the independence day celebration is my favorite. This year we even had little red aliens, with antennas. I am not sure how they figured into Guatemala’s independence from Spain, but they were adorable.
