Zip Line Fun!!!!
ByWe have lots of trees and space at the children’s village and it seemed, to me that we needed a zip line for the kids to fly about. I looked on the internet for zip lines, that would be safe and made of quality materials. After lots of research, I decided to purchase a zip line from ziplinehomekits.com. What I didn’t expect, was that the owner of the company, would generously donate a giant zip line kit to us for free. When I contacted Ed Willoughby and ordered the zip line I was quite surprised, and very happy, to receive an email back from him that he would be happy to donate the zip line and the shipping to us. What a gift!
Our volunteer team from Lutheran Social Services brought down our zip line, harnesses and helmets. We then, miracles of all miracles, had a volunteer that is an expert in putting up zip lines! Rich and Pam Garman, from Wisconsin, have been wonderful volunteers at Semillas de Amor. They had contacts in Wisconsin and had the harnesses and helmets donated. They made sure the zip line was safe for all our kids, big and little. And then they constructed a platform for the kids to take off from as well as a ladder to get to the platform.
The kids’ zip line was all donated. The zip line itself, thank you Ed! The zip line set up, platform, ladder and technical support, thank you Pam and Rich! This was truly a show of real team work. Thank you, Ed, Pam and Rich, from all of us at Semillas de Amor!
